Privacy Policy
How TradeLynQ collects, uses and protects information. Effective July 2026.
This policy is written to be read. If any of it is unclear, that is our failure and we would like to hear about it — a privacy policy nobody can understand protects nobody.
What we collect
Account details you give us — your name, email address and company. Data you create in the product: leads, contacts, measurements, proposals, messages and files. Standard technical logs: IP address, browser, and the pages you request, kept to keep the service secure and working.
Homeowners who use a measurement widget embedded on a contractor’s website provide their own contact details, room dimensions and photographs. That information belongs to, and flows to, the contractor who owns that widget. We process it on their behalf.
How we use it
To run the product: route leads into the right workspace, deliver designs, send the messages you ask us to send, process payments, and support you when something breaks. We also use aggregate, de-identified usage data to work out which parts of the product are failing people.
We do not sell your data, or your customers’ data, to anyone. We do not use it to train advertising models, and we do not share it with other TradeLynQ customers.
The AI Assistant
When you ask the AI Assistant to draft a reply, the relevant conversation and the business context you configured are sent to a third-party model provider under a commercial agreement that prohibits them from training on your data. Nothing is sent until you have filled in your business context, and the assistant refuses to draft on pricing, scope, complaints, approvals and cancellations — it escalates those to a person.
You can turn the assistant off entirely in Settings → AI. When it is off, nothing is sent.
Payment data
Card details are collected and stored by our payment processor, Stripe, and never touch our servers. We keep only what we need to manage your subscription: the card brand, its last four digits, and your billing status.
We take a card when you start the free trial. It is not charged during the trial period. It verifies that you are a real business, which is the cheapest spam control we have found that does not punish real customers.
How long we keep it
Workspace data lives for as long as your account does. Measurement submissions from the widget that are never confirmed by email are deleted automatically, along with any photographs attached to them, once they expire.
When you delete your account we remove your workspace data on the schedule in our terms. Backups age out on their own cycle; we do not restore a deleted account from one.
Your rights
You can access, export, correct, or delete your data at any time from your settings, or by asking us. If you are in the UK, EU, or a US state with a comprehensive privacy law, you have the rights those laws give you — including the right to complain to your regulator — and we will not make you cite the statute to get them.
If a homeowner asks us to delete data that a contractor collected through a widget, we will refer them to that contractor, who is the controller of it, and we will help.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Access to production data is limited to the people who need it to run the service. Every tenant’s data is isolated at the database layer, not merely by application code, so a bug in a query cannot show one company another company’s pipeline.
No system is perfectly secure and anyone who tells you otherwise is selling something. If you find a vulnerability, tell us and we will fix it and credit you.
Contact
Questions about this policy, or about the data we hold on you, go through our contact form. It opens a real task for a real person, and we answer within one business day.
Last updated July 2026. We’ll email account owners before any change that materially affects them.
